In the past, you might have had to remove a tooth if it became damaged, even if the damage was minor overall. Today, we save teeth whenever possible, even when severely damaged by decay or infection through root canal therapy. Prior to your treatment, our team at Oasis Family Dentistry will do everything we can to make sure you are informed and feel comfortable. Remember, root canals are meant to save teeth and stop oral discomfort. If you’re experiencing a bad toothache, give our office a call and we will get you on the path towards recovery!
If you are experiencing severe pain in your tooth, it’s possible that an infection is present. You may also notice brown, gray or dark yellow discolorations in your tooth. If you have a high fever, this can also be attributed to an infection, regardless of where it occurs in the body. Chewing might be difficult or even impossible due to severe sensitivity, which can also occur when the tooth is exposed to hot or cold stimuli. We will perform a detailed X-ray of your mouth to confirm the presence of an infection before recommending root canal therapy.
